Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

Are you constantly worried, always on edge?

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Treatment Gold Coast

What GAD actually feels like

GAD isn’t worrying about one big thing. It’s worry that moves — health, then money, then the kids, then work, then that email you sent three days ago. As soon as one worry settles, another takes its place. The worry can even feel useful, like staying alert is what keeps you safe… so letting go feels risky.

Underneath it, your body stays braced. That’s where the restlessness, the tight muscles, the clenched jaw, the tiredness and the broken sleep come from — a nervous system that never quite gets the “all clear.”

You might notice:

  • Persistent, hard-to-control worry across lots of areas of life
  • Trouble switching off or relaxing — even on holidays
  • Feeling on edge, restless, or easily startled
  • Muscle tension, headaches, or an unsettled stomach
  • Tiredness that sleep doesn’t seem to fix
  • Difficulty concentrating because your mind is elsewhere
